dlnash@ut-ngp.UUCP (Donald L. Nash) (12/11/85)
I am posting an update for PC-More to net.sources. It will now work on
either a monochrome or color monitor, with no patching necessary. I
don't know if it will work on the EGA, since I don't have access to one.
If the EGA can be made to emulate a CGA, then it may work. My compiler
does not support the EGA, so if the EGA can't emulate a CGA, then
someone with a compiler that will support the EGA may wish to help.
I am sure that it will run on either monitor, since I tried it on both.
I apologize for the error and by limp suggestion on how to fix it. This
new version checks to see which monitor is installed and adjusts the clear
screen function accordingly.
The bug came about because I wrote PC-More on a monochrome system. I didn't
even think about color monitors until someone mailed me a question about
why it didn't work on a color system.
I am not going to post the entire source code again, but instead an update
to the old source code. The modifications are small, so it should be very
easy to follow along with the instructions in the update. The update file
also contains an update to the User's Guide.
I will post the newly compiled binaries again, for the benefit of those
who don't have a C compiler.
Once again, many, many apologies for the error.
