The old IBM ATs (<= 20M hard disks) support 14 distinct hard disk drive types (1 - 14) with drive type 15 left open for user defined drives. Assuming that I have a drive that is not among the first 14, how do I enter the correct drive type entry (# of cylinders, # of heads, etc.) given that I know all of the necessary data? The Fall BYTE describing such a procedure is quite vague on this point. Where in ROM can the table of drive type entries be found on both the old and new ATs?
