I have a PCjr to which I'd like to be able to attach an external modem. This should be pretty easy to do, as the system unit contains a built-in serial port. Unfortunately, the serial port requires a non-standard (surprise!), 16-pin connector. IBM will cheerfully sell you an "Adapter Cable for Serial Devices" for $25. I'd rather make the damn thing myself (a fellow netter was kind enough to send me the configuration specs). Does anybody out there know where I might be able to get my hands on one of these 16-pin connectors? So far, I haven't been able to track one down, either locally or mail-order.
