-- I am interested in some information on posting some software to PC networks (FIDO & BBS). I would like to know details such as: o What BBS's should I use for the type of software that I would post (software development tools) ? o What terms and licensing should I place on the software? ie: I think FANSI.SYS has special terms for commercial as opposed to personal. What about copying? o How much of a donation should I ask for my efforts? I heard someone say about the people who wrote FANSI.SYS, "they expect a donation"! Is this so bad? I'm sure they worked as hard as I. o I would like not to post source in order to control changes myself and prevent "hacked at" versions from bitting me. Is this ok? There must be something written up on this matter. I read an artical by the founder of FIDO (I think), about a communications package that he wrote, expressing his thoughts. Are you out there? How about the FANSI.SYS people, may I hear from you? I worked hard on some tools software which is definitely 1st class stuff, (like stuff on the market running from $125-$500) but I cannot afford the marketing costs. I want people to use it and would like a return for my work. Is this the wrong mentality for "shareware"? Can someone speak in an offical capacity on these questions? thanx: Please Mail:ihnp4!drutx!drux1!vlv
