*** I'm stumped *** I've just added a Hercules Mono board and an additional 384k RAM to my IBM PC II with an Amdek 310A. All diagnostics pass fine, and the Hercules test program shows the graphics are correctly installed. A graphics editor that came with STSC/APL runs fine. When I run Autocad the monitor shows a blizzard of snow (looks more like a well structured rain storm). When I take Autocad to text mode and quit the program I get an "DOS Memory Allocation Error". At that point I can reboot with cntl/alt/del. I have taken the same software to a machine with the same amount of memory and an IBM monitor with a Hercules mono card and had neither the blizzard or the unusual exit. Mother board switch settings are: SW1=01000001 & SW2=10110000 where 1=on and 0=off. Anybody got any ideas? My present guess is mother board memory controller. I have swapped in a new memory expansion board to see if it was bad. Thanks, Bruce Harris !tektronix!tekecs!bruceh
