[net.micro.pc] Query: Hacking the PC-1 motherboard

chinn@butler.UUCP (David Chinn) (02/20/86)

I have a PC with a 64k max motherboard. I'd like more
memory, but I have run out of expansion slots. Looking
at the schematics, it appears to me that one should be
able to cut and jumper the motherboard so that it would
accept the 64k parts in place of the 16k parts.

The question is, has anyone done this? Are there any
hidden problems in the process. Where is the best place
to do the cut and jumper? Is it really possible?
How would the world survive without ice cream?

If I get any interest, I will summarize to the net.

				Thanks in advance
