A while back, some knowledgeable folk posted a relatively complete list of DOS interrupts, which included documentation of some marked in the DOS technical reference as "reserved". Now I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has discovered the use of "reserved" areas of the program segment prefix (PSP) and also the file control block, either or both of which may change from DOS level to level. I've explored cursorily inside of COMMAND.COM and notice that very early on it peeks at information in the PSP, including some locations that are not documented. If anyone has explored the PSP (and FCB) in detail, I would appreciate hearing from them via mail. If there is general interest (and I get a response), I will post the results. I wouldn't dream of advocating using this information for production work. It's purely of intellectual interest :-). -- Jay Elvove ..!seismo!rlgvax!cvl!umd5!jay c/o Systems, Computer Science Center, U. of MD.
