[net.micro.pc] polywindows and wordperfect

A colleague was using WordPerfect 4.1 on his hard disk with Polywindows as a
resident program. WordPerfect ran fine until he used the Ctrl-Return command
to create a page break. This command was ignored. We tried a different copy
of WordPerfect - which we knew handled this command fine on other computers -
with the same result. He then removed Polywindows from the disk and the page
break command worked fine. Anybody have an explanation for this and a solution
as to how to run WordPerfect with Polywindows resident?

I suspect that Polywindows and WP both use the Ctrl-Return and the existance of
the resident command from Polywindows interferes with the WP command. When
PW was removed from memory (I don't see how it could matter whether it is on
the disk or not), it could no longer interfere.

Perhaps you can change Ctrl-Return to something else in one of the programs
by re-programming the keys. But be careful not to overlap still another
command. WP uses so many functions, that it may be hard to find something
that is not already in use.
