A couple of months ago I posted an article soliciting help for installing both MS-DOS and Xenix on my Priam hard disk. The problem was: If I used Priam's EDISK partitioning program, Xenix would not install, and if I used IBM's FDISK program, I would get an 'Invalid drive specification' when I tried to format or access the disk from MS-DOS. Several people on the net made suggestions, none worked. SCO and Priam were useless, their support people could do little more than quote the appropriate sections of the manual. Finally, a friend from a local software house was able to solve the problem. The trick was to redo the low level format with IBM's low level formatter on the Advanced diagnostics disk. I'd like to thank those on the net who offered assistance, and more importantly, I'd like to disseminate this information so that others will not have to go through the hassle of researching this. -- Ben Broder {ihnp4,decvax} !hjuxa!catnip!ben {houxm,topaz}/
