DOS 3.2 has a major difference from 3.1, in that the default number of interrupts it can handle has been (for some reason known only to IBM) reduced from many to 9. If you have too many things going on a system that is running 3.2 it will suddenly produce a Fata error that forces you to turn the whole system off. Don't ask me how they could make such a stupid mistake on thier version of a DOS to support increased networking !! At any rate, the PC week article said there is a way to REDUCE the likelihood of this happening by diddling the CONFIG.SYS but did not descirbe it. Some people in my office set up 2 ATs with 3.2, and if anyone out there hears about this fix please let me know... Not only does it crash, it eats up 16K more of your RAM to support the networking stuff they added. If you're *not* planning on using it to communicate between PCATs and other stuff, fergit it.... m j ranum H462AAMJR@GALLUA.BITNET "They don't have to do it right, They're IBM..."
