------------------- Recently, I purchased a Graphics Printer Interface card from PC Network for my AT&T 6300. This is basically, just a parallel port. It came about 1.5 weeks after I ordered it, with no directions for installation. So I guessed that it could go into almost any slot on my 6300. When I turned the machine on after having hooked up the cables to my 2 printers, it didn't work. The original port worked fine. I called PC Network and after finally reaching them, they gave me directions on how to change the straps on the card to change the port address. Now, it works fine, but my question is this: the original port was LPT1, now the original port is LPT2 and the new GPI card is LPT1. Why is this? I didn't change any switches on the mother board. Also, the customer diagnostics only sees one parallel port. Any help from folks out in net-land would be appreciated. ------------------ may reply by this net or by email. --thanks much. ..!ihnp4!ihlpl!rlneal
