We are looking at various ports of UN*X for PCs
(mostly IBM XTs and ATs, but also less than 100% clones).
I don't remember seeing a survey of these beasts in this
group. If there was, and if someone has a copy of it, we
would appreciate getting it. If not, then could anyone who
has any info on them please send it to us. And of course, we
would summarize and repost them here.
In particluar, we are interested in these areas:
o how well does it work? (as in: does it grind to
a halt when more than one task is executing)
o requirements - memory, disk, other hardware, etc.
o will it run PC/MS-DOS programs?
o documentation - user info, as well as technical stuff
for hacking around.
o technical support from vendor.
o cost
