Dear Jeff, When i refered to the song "Changes", i was refering to the song with the chorus, "The more that things change, the more they stay the same." I realize the song is probably not called changes, but when i first asked my friend for the name of the song, and he called it changes... as i do not have a copy of the album it is on in my house at the moment, i can't be sure, but i believe it is on the secong side of hemispheres. As far as my line about music concerts go, no, i do not mean that to be a crack against rush. the music was superb. all i mean is that in the past, concerts i have attended were by people who they themselves were the show (poor english, who cares). rush, on the other hand, had a light show, a video show, etc. one disheartening fact, however, was the throwing of fireworks at the rush concert. i consider myself a peaceful music lover. unfortunately, as rush is considered by many to be a HARD ROCK group, the corresponding crowd attends the show. i wish they would realize the danger of fireworks indoors. as a matter of fact, one of those glow in the dark sticks was thrown onto the stage, an almost hit Peart. Now, as far as your line about my groups being out of tune... as far as my musical tastes go, they have worked their way back in time. i started by listening to recent stuff. now i enjoy the likes of dylan, joni mithcell, eric clapton, csn, csny, y, buffalo springfield, moody blues, you know, the 60-70 years. at the csn concert i can hardly say they were out of tune... and the point is not even whether or not they are in tune. the way i feel about these guys is that THEY ARE WHAT ROCK AND ROLL IS AND WAS ALL ABOUT. rush fits in nicely with their style. a combination of great music (you know, the kind that goes straight to the heart, you can't help playing air guitar, even though you don't even know how to play guitar), and great lyrics. rush posseses both of those skills. rush impresses me even more, due to the fact that if you were to look at who wrote the songs, a group effort is apparent. this is rare in the newer groups. another important fact which brings my attention to a group is to have the ability to put out a REALLY good song every once in a while, like the classics, csn's SUITE: JUDY BLUE EYE'S, rush's 2112 (whole album), and the list goes on. although most of my favorites arent touring anymore, they did at one time crank out these classics. I could go on about the old stuff, but most of my friends want to hit me at this point in the conversation, because i wont shut up. if you'd like to continue talking, let me know, i love music talk. The name of the song to which you refer is 'Circumstances' - it's the lead song on the second side of Hemispheres. David Arnold P.S. Anybody have any Rush tapes to trade? (Preferably live) "You won't get wise with the sleep still in your eyes, no matter what your dream might be"
