I seem to be, correction, AM having a problem with the new Hayes 1200B
Internal Modem (this is the one that has dial tone and busy detection, which
the previous 1200B did not). The wonderful people at Hayes Technical
Support were so beautifully indifferent to said problem that I decided to
ask net.world about it ("Our modems are not guaranteed to be downward
compatible... We maintain downward compatibility through our standard
software package SmartComm II"... Give me a break...)
Anyway, I have this interrupt driven micro to mainframe package running on
the IBM PC which works just great with the freestanding Hayes modem and the
earlier version of the 1200B. Just will not go with the new 1200B. Anyone
out there worked with this new modem and can tell me about any differences
they may have noticed? Any pointers would be sorely appreciated.
