[net.micro.pc] Leading Edge RAMDISK needed

jlh@loral.UUCP (Squashed Sardine) (06/23/86)

I've got a Leading Edge PC clone with 640K internal memory, and the Superdrive
RAMDISK software from AST. The ramdisk loads ok, but once in a while the
software goes to access drive a or b and never comes back. By once in a while
I mean it sometimes runs for a couple of hours, sometimes for a couple
of minutes. Sometimes I can controlaltdelete it back, sometimes I have
to power down. In any case it's a real pisser as I lose all my
data in drive c. I've tried all kinds of switching combinations
and experiments, the problem also doesn't seem to depend on the application
I'm running. My question is: does anybody out there use the Superdrive
ramdisk with a leading edge and if not, what ramdisk do you use? Do you
know of any public domain ramdisk software packages?

One final note. This software was written to drive AST's sixpack plus
card, and I strongly suspect the reason this software is giving me problems
is I don't have the board installed. A friend of mine got his pc
ripped off so he gave me his software, so I didn't pirate the program.
After using this ramdisk I've got to have a working one, I don't care if
I have to buy it or not.
