I've been kinda politely informed that my notion of passing around PC UNIX tools could get me into trouble. In fact, I had quite an interesting discussion with some people, and have concluded that all bets are *off*. I don't need the kind of hassles I have found I could be presented with. I apologise to any of you who's time I have wasted. I encourage you to pursue your own public domain software, but I regret that I cannot take the risks I was preparing to. I had not realized how legalistic parts of the computing community have become. thanks, and sorry. marcus ranum "at the current rate of growth, in 2 years we will have one lawyer per family in the district of columbia.
