I also use Desqview regularly and as it does true pre-emptive multitasking, I can transfer files and use text editors at the same time. Windows is nice but only the foreground program actually gets any CPU time. One thing that helps with Desqview is memory. I use a Talltrees JRAM II card and Talltrees supplies software which lets you put 704K memory into DOS if you don't use the EGA. I also believe that this technique is documented and in the public domain. With 704K, Desqview can handle a more reasonable number of programs at once. -- --------------------------------- Mark C.
