[net.micro.pc] request for info on shareware project management software

dmm@panda.UUCP (Dottie MacKeen) (07/26/86)

I have been told there is a shareware project management package
called cocomo (or possibly kokomo) which runs on IBM-PC's.

Is anyone familiar with this software?

Does anyone know where it can be obtained?

thanks for the help

Barry Boehm's cost estimation model for software development, COCOMO, has been
realized for IBM PC-class machines (and other machines with a decent Pascal,
like the VAX and Prime series). WICOMO was a student project (the first!)
at the Wang Institute, and is available from them for some nominal fee. They're
on the net as site 'wanginst' on both UUCP and CSNET. I don't remember
exactly who to contact there for distribution information, but you could
probably send a message to Gary Perlman, a member of the faculty, or call
the main desk at 617-649-9731 and ask about software distribution of WICOMO.
