Net.landians, this is really in response to another article, but there is a problem somewhere in the net that won't let the mail through. Please bear with me on this on. Sorry to take up your time. To: ugeileen%sunybcs.uucp@BBNCCV.ARPA Subject: Re: Communication Software for the Pc-jr Hi, My brother has a PC-jr, and he uses Crosstalk XVI. They have a special version that is written specifically for the PC-jr, that is included with the IBM version. Crosstalk is about $90.00 from most mail order houses. Xtalk has a few (alot) of other very nice features, like a good kermit, xmodem clink, crosstalk and plain text transfer capabilities, script files that can do auto logins, auto file transmissions, what ever you want. You can even access your computer from a remote location, and have it do things for you (not full access, but enough to get and receive files). I use Crosstalk at home and at work talking to a Gould 9000 BSD4.3, and to talk to my brother on his PC-jr. It is a very nice program to use, and easy. The PC-jr version is setup to work with the internal pc-jr modem, but can be easily changed to work with any modem up to 4800 baud. Crosstalk will go faster but I think the PC-jr slows things down to the point 4800 is the actual through put achieved. If you have any more questions, give me a call, or mail, or....
