Some of use ProComm as our PC communications software because we find its many features quite useful in a shop with a Sperry 1100 running Exec-8, an IBM 4381 VM/CMS, a cluster of Vaxen running VMS, and a Vax running BSD 4.2 Unix, plus a LocalNet 20 connecting our academic empire on a broadband cable. Funniest thing (a real pain in the hinder at times), every now and then a run of characters (maybe a portion of a line) falls in the bit bucket. We don't see it on dedicated terminals, and we don't (or haven't so far) on PCs using ProComm with other terminal emulations. Anybody else seen this or know the products and have a suggestion? Please EMail if you can. ADVthanksANCE. Jess Anderson anderson@unix.macc.wisc.edu
