[net.micro.pc] Leading Edge MH vs. Sperry IT

halloran@unirot.UUCP (Bob Halloran) (07/31/86)

It is my understanding that the new 'MH' AT-compatible from Leading
Edge is essentially the same system offered as the Sperry IT. Does
the MH offer the no-wait 7.16 MHz option? In the BYTE review of the
IT, it seemed that operating in this mode was substantially faster
than the stock AT. If so, the MH would appear to be an excellent
deal in AT clones.

Thanks in advance.

I've been told that the Leading Edge MH is the same as the Sperry IT
with a few modifications. They are both made by Mitsubishi. However,
rumor says that Leading Edge will be supporting the Daewoo AT when it
comes out. They have never officially announced the MH and are apparently
waiting for the Daewoo so they can dump the MH like they did the Model M.
