[net.micro.pc] MS-DOS serial port routines

I am looking for Microsoft C Ver 3.0 compatible subroutines for handling
serial IO in MS-DOS.  Specifically, I'm hoping to find sources, in C or
assembler for routines that will: 
	1) Open a serial port and set baud rate, parity, stop bits, and
word size
	2) Write a character to the port
	3) Read a character from the port if one is ready
