Sorry for the delay, but enough people responded that I felt I ought to clean up the code a little, and test it a little more thoroughly. (I don't mind wasting a couple of people's time, but.... :-) I'm glad I did; found a couple of things we'd have had to straighten out later. Of course, I have no illusions that ALL the bugs are out. The posting in net.sources is a shell archive (shar) of the source. The BIOS itself is in assembler, and there are a couple of test programs in assembler and deSmet C. The instructions and documentation are in the shar in HERCBIOS.DOC. For details of the function calls, see your BIOS manual or the preamble comments in the source code. Please let me know about good experiences and bad. This is the first source I've posted, and would like to know how it worked out. (No flames about coding style, please. I wrote it over two years ago, and the recent cleaning up only hit the grossest style problems. In particular, I KNOW NOW how to use the BP to access in the stack, and I KNOW there are 2 places I did something far less pretty. However, it works and doesn't cost too much, so .... "exercise for the reader.")
