{ line eater food} I am interested is setting up a LAN using a Sperry IT as the central server and a variety of micros (including Radio Shack Model 100's and other assorted PC-clones). The IT is capable of handling up to 8 remote devices by means of serial ports. What I need is some advice on the software to run this network. Basicallly, I want to share files, facilities (e.g. printers, etc); and to pass messages back and forth amongst the nodes on the network. Such software as LanLink seems to provide the resource sharing capability; but not the message passing. I realize that Xenix would provide most of what I need, but I require MS DOS applications, e. g., Framework, to run in a shared environment. I have heard that Concurrent DOS may be the answer - but I can't seem to find a source of info on this product. Does anyone out there have experience setting up such a network as described? I'd be willing to summarize responses if there's a demand. -- Thomas J. Smith @ MCC Software Technology tsmith@mcc.com sally!im4u!milano!tsmith
