I recently purchased a used HYPERION Portable PC which is suppose to be IBM compatible. All works well until I try to run "graphic" programs (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Flight Simulator, Trivia, etc.). These programs display their initial graphics just fine, but the keyboard is "dead" after they load. Seems like the software is generating a keyboard interrupt. With most of these programs, I have to turn the power off/on to reboot DOS. With Microsoft Windows, the keyboard appears "dead", but will allow a ctrl-alt-del reset. The problem seems independent of the DOS version I am running. I get the same results with version 1.25, 2.0, 2.1, and 2.11. The HYPERION reference manual indicates that the interrupt structure is identical to the IBM-PC. Most of the IBM CGA programs I have tried seem to "run" okay. I sure would appreciate some feedback and any suggestions on how to resolve this problem. -- Sanford "Sandy" Meltzer - Sun Microsystems, Inc.
