Let me start off by saying that I use and have used Procomm for quite a while and that it has served me well. My big complaint which applies to the new release of 2.4 as well as the older versions is that the terminal emulations are poor. Most of the terminals which Procomm supposedly emulates have character insert/delete. Procomm does not support these features on ANY of its terminal types! I have gone to using VT-100 emulation because that one is not supposed to have those features and thus it works fine on this Unix system. I sent them a note about this problem months back, but apparently their (Datastorm's) priorities lie elsewhere. One would think that a package as full featured as Procomm would have better terminal emulation. I'd be happy if they had a mode which just passed characters thru to the bios which on my machine are handled by Fansi-console. I could then use Fansi's very good ANSI emulator which does have character insert/delete. Maybe in their next release... Corwin Nichols ...hplabs!cdp!corwin
