[net.micro.pc] Ctrl-U and Ctrl-W keys in DOS 3.1

I know it's not the most important feature ever introduced to
computers, BUT...

Pressing ctrl-u and ctrl-w used to work for me and now it doesn't.
The DOS system files have not changed.  I verified this.  Why would
this happen?  Does anyone remember the patches to enable it?
