A recent posting of NEWKEY produced error messages upon uudecode and arc. I looked at the tail end of the file, and this is what I found: ---------------------------------------------------------------- M`2>=T@"@`A[0TCOLO3P;`3-=T]Y+E%O=U5_M!$XA6MF\U.)9UELLQLFIQFJ= MSD)%4X?L9P@2UQU%U])AUYJ!USFUUWTMOM/Q71<\&H--USIAV-*!V)H\('#0 MV`;L!I"-()(M&Y5]V3>PRP#`#1[PV:$=3QZ@O<?LS``P`A\0`:K-V@#@!"6_ MTSW]TR`0U$-MGD;]U4X@UDO=UTX-U2`@U4Z`G%0]`59-`%#V"24/VPA``"B6 M["?A#B;A#B;A#B;A#I!P"#2($97^IZ(`!R.`#I;0(\Q@#CP@!G3P`#R@+PM` MXGSP,CG@!TJ"`\8C"F\P`FA#!B.`#@AX.S"0`KMC#J3H">;PE%%I?>L`B$7R M!B,@/PU@`J(`98@$2.E0#257)&\P`OIB-$7R!B/`+X<J"C.$2("$#FL`0N'' M`V2`04 uiucuxc ignored 25589 excess bytes ------------------------------------------------------------------- (I also had problems with the second part of PROCOMM 2.4). Obviously the problem is with the file as transmitted. How can this problem be avoided? What causes it? P.S. I hope that Mike Bruno will re-post the NEWKEY utility. --J. Wavrik UCSD

The problem is that some sites limit the size of data over uucp connections. 60K rings a bell as to the common cut off limit. (This is true for sites that use the MAIL protocol of sending news). Anyway, the solutionn is to make sure that you cut up the "articles" into various shar'ed batches, each about 50K. That should do the trick. -- Steven J. McDowall Dayton-Hudson Dept. Store. Co.
