[net.micro.pc] British made PC clone

vdeshpande@watdaisy.UUCP (Vinay Deshpande) (10/31/86)

I recently heard about a British made PC clone, called
AMSTRAD. I want to get it with 2 floppy drives, a 20 Meg.
hard disk drive, and colour monitor. The aim is to take it to
India for use there.

Does anyone know how good they are? What kind of CPU,
clock rate, etc. do they have? I would appreciate any helpful
comments.

Amstrad has marketed CP/M machines for a while. They have a good
reputation, and appear to be quite a bargain as far as features
and price. If their PC clone is as well done, it's probably a good
deal.

Sears markets an Amstrad CP/M system as a stand-alone word processor.
The system, which runs ZCPR, has 128K, and nice quality color graphics,
retails for $ 499.
