[net.micro.pc] XT hard drives on the AT

atb@ece-csc.UUCP (Andy Brown) (11/07/86)

<why do peaple put these silly statements up here?>

a basic question which may have been already answered at one time or another:

is it possible to install hard drives designed for the XT on the AT?
specifically i have a seagate st225 that was donated to me.
if you can install the hard drive, does anyone know what drive
number to use in the setup program.
   is the cabling the same?
i am asking a really stupid question? some people have told me
that it can be done, while others say no way.

yes you can - there is *no* difference in the drives

	yes

no question is stupid (till you've been told the answer, of course :-)

Not only can it be done, I've done it; in fact I am
using a 225 on my AT right now while I'm composing this reply
