APOPKA, Fla. (AP) _ Police are searching for the parents of a day-old dead baby that was found sticking out of a brown paper bag in a back yard, police said. The baby was alive at birth and was less than 24 hours old when he died, said Tom Collins, police chief of this Orange County town. He said the case was being investigated as a ``suspicious death.'' ``We just don't have anything on it yet. But we're going to get to the bottom of it. It might take a while, but we'll do it,'' he said. Neighbors were stunned Wednesday after learning of the grisly discovery of the baby boy, his foot projecting from the grocery bag. Ida Mae Ryce telephoned police hysterically, saying she thought she had seen a baby in a bag in her next-door neighbor's yard. Police said the neighbor was not involved. The finding still troubles Marie Hughley, who lives across the street. ``Whoever put that baby there, could have brought it to me,'' she said. ``I would have raised it just to keep it from suffering. That would have been the best Christmas present for anybody.''
