I realize that T.V is not a "literate treatise on physics." But often when writers break such laws they invent new ones to cover their backs. This time it seems they didn't. How about "The planet with the Guardian of Forever on it is in some weird state (NOT NJ!) (Sorry, couldn't resist!) where space-time is not normal, thus Kirk et.al. can still be around. This abnormal state is caused by the Guardian's presence." ? Jeff "This is no stranger than warp drive" Johnson
