A pretty good response from alice!alb to the self-destruct question, but does anybody know the actual self-destruct codes required to initiate the countdown? Here's another question: Did Spock ever have a pet, and if so what kind?

#R:aplvax:-11500:whuxlb:7100005:000:684 whuxlb!eric Jun 14 22:14:00 1983 In the episode with Spock's father Spock's pet is mentioned. It comes out in casual conversation between Kirk, McCoy and Amanada (Spock's human mother) that Spock had a "teddy bear" when he was younger. Spock walks over, and seeing McCoy`s obviously impish grin, says something to the effect of "yes, but on Vulcan, teddy bears are 7 feet tall and have VERY sharp claws". The pet was called, I believe, a "Sheelat." Also, adding to the long gone list of Bones cries of dismay, in "Friday's Child" (Cappellans, Klingons, and pregnant woman), McCoy is helping the pregnant woman up a steep slope: "Damnit Jim, I'm a doctor, not an escalator" Eric Holtman harpo!whuxlb!eric

1. Ah, but do you remember the cancelling sequence? 2. Spock's pet was indeed a cehlot (sp? Amanda pronounced the first syllable with a soft e). But Spock's remark to Bones: "On Vulcan, the teddy bear is LIVE and has 6-inch fangs.." (hadn't they converted to metric?) Quick quiz: What was Bele's racial reference to Loki? What was Bele's title? How far off was Bones' estimate of Sarek's age? PLEEZE, no immediate followup answers for at least a couple of days after receipt! (Mailed answers don't spoil others' fun!) Spock did have a pet (I think it was called an EWOK). It was sort of like a teddy bear except these had 6 inch (why didn't he say 15 cm?) claws and teeth or some sort of frightening appendages. MAB

Spock's pet was called a Sehlot (check spelling) NOT an EWOK!!!!! Somebody has been watching RotJ recently.
