I don't remember the name, but it was the episode where Kirk, et. al. were transported to a simulation of the gunfight at the O.K. corral. The voice of the Melkotian space-bouy that told them to go away (which they didn't listen to) was done by James Doohan (Scotty).

nmtvax!221ande hit it right on the nose: In ''Spectre of the Gun,'' James Doohan played both Scotty and the voice of the Melkotian. He was the only regular to play in a guest appearance role in the same show that he appeared as a regular, and as such the only regular to be listed by the producers as a guest star. Note this does not count Nurse Chappel's 'guest' role in The Menagerie; this is not a guest star role because (1) her role in the old pilot was as a regular and (2) the producers do not list her as a guest star.

Actually, James Doohan was here at U of T in 1978 when I remember him saying that he did three of the voices for the animated Star Trek series as well. Seems as though he probably does a lot of this kind of work. Ray Allen utcsrgv!ray (416) 978-5036 P.S. James Doohan does *not* speak with a Scottish accent. His middle name is "Montgomrey" (sp?) from which his name on Star Trek came from (Really!). (This Star Trek trivia has been brought to you free of charge.)
