[net.startrek] Speaking of Klingons

hobbit@sunybcs.UUCP (Thomas Pellitieri) (03/07/84)

George Takei and Walter Koening gave a lecture here at SUNY/Buffalo last
Saturday (3 March) and a question was raised as to what kind of Klingons
would appear in Star Trek III - The Search For Spock (premiering (sp?)
June 1st, by the way). The answer was that "they would have bumps" as in
STTMP, and not as in the series (RATS!). Although, James Doohan (sp?)
once said that the reason they got the bumps was because of a large number
of tribbles........

Also, Mark Leonard will appear in ST3 as Sarek (Spock's Daddy).

The bumpy-headed Klingons first appeared on television! But
they weren't Klingons -- they were Kreegs (sp?), the nomadic
badguys in something called "Planet Earth" (Genesis IIb). A
Roddenberry pilot-that-failed, for those not up on trivia.

Roddenberry must've liked that make-up.
