Last weekend I received word from an associate in Hollywood that Paramount has confirmed that Dame Judith Anderson is playing the part of Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother, in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock". I have yet to see the press release myself, but this comes from an unimpeachable source who is not easily misled. Early speculation had it that she would play the Vulcan master T'Pau, seen in "Amok Time", but this was later publicly denied by Paramount officials. As they have always referred to Anderson's role as "pivotal", this left few possibilities apart from Spock's mother. Paramount has been especially tight-lipped about this, waiting until now, only 12 weeks before the scheduled release date, before confirming the rumors. Unofficial word has it that there has been some significant change in the relationship between Spock's father, Sarek (played again by Mark Lenard), and Amanda. As the idea of divorce seems inconceivable, I have yet to learn what this means (if it is not a red herring). While I'm at it, does anyone happen to know the names of the Star Fleet personnel played by James B. Sikking and Robert Hooks in ST3? Roger Noe ihnp4!ihlts!rjnoe
