I beg to differ with the "Charlie X" response. The episode "And the Children Shall Lead" dealt with some urchins taking over the Enterprise via mental powers ( and heavenly intervention! :-). I seem to recall that THAT was where Spock got his legs broken -- it was on the Bridge and I think Kirk and he were going to remove one of the kids... I just saw "And the Children Shall Lead" last week, and it is NOT the episode where Spock's leg's get broken. It is indeed "Charlie X". Was there more than one episode where Kirk says, "Let's get the hell out of here" ? The obvious one is "City on the Edge of Forever", but I'm not sure if there were any more; as a wild guess, I'd try "The Tholian Web". Ever notice a resemblance between Philana (Plato's Stepchildren) and Anan 7's wife (who was to have become a `casualty') in A Taste of Armageddon? Easy. They were both played by Barbara Babcock, the nymphomaniac of Hill Street Blues fame. This does bring me to an interesting topic, however. There has been a recent discussion of "previous appearances" by the Star Trek cast. As a twist, how about "Double Appearances"? There are probably half a dozen people who have had a relatively major supporting role in two episodes AS DIFFERENT CHARACTERS (i.e. Harry Mudd is out, although no one will argue he's quite a character). I think I know most of them, although not always the character's or actor's names. Try to add to my list (No books--memory only!) 1. Barbara Babcock (Plato's Stepchildren) (A Taste of Armageddon) 2. Mark Leonard (Journey to Babel) (Balance of Terror) 3. ?? <Punk on 'Dallas'> (Dagger of the Mind) (Omega Glory) 4. ??? Melakon in (Patterns of Force) (The Way to Eden--great ears!!) 5. ??? Trelayne in (The Squire of Gothos) (Trouble with Tribbles) 6. ??? Ann Muhlhall in (Return to Tomorrow) Miranda in (Is There in Truth No Beauty?) 7. ??? Kirk's "woman" in (The Deadly Years) } this last one is only Eve in (Shore Leave) } a guess Let's hear from you...any more? SJBerry

Actually, guys, it's like this: 7. ??? Dr. Wallace (The Deadly Years) Ruth (Shore Leave) Dr. Wallace wasn't really Kirk's "woman", just a visiting biologist on board the Enterprise when things broke loose. I thought it might be the same woman who played Kirk's old flame, Ruth, on "Shore Leave." But I'm not sure. Anyone out there know? B.K. Cobb ihnp4!ihuxs!okie

>> 7. ??? Dr. Wallace (The Deadly Years) >> Ruth (Shore Leave) Nope. Dr. Janet Wallace was played by Sarah Marshall in "The Deadly Years" while Ruth was played by Shirley Bonne in "Shore Leave". Roger Noe ihnp4!ihlts!rjnoe

Debbie Padgett (astrovax!dp) had some additions to the growing list of double appearances . . . >2. Eddie Paskey : the inevitable Mr. Leslie, > Ensign Rand (in "The Naked Time"), etc. Huh? Sure, Paskey portrayed Lt. Leslie in at least a half-dozen episodes, but from where does "Ensign Rand" come from? Paskey wasn't even in "Naked Time". He did play an Eminiar guard in "A Taste of Armageddon". >3. ???? : Decius in "Balance of Terror" > Stonn in "Amok Time" Good eye! That was Lawrence Montaigne. >5. ??? : Angela Martine in "Balance of Terror" > Angela Teller in "Shore Leave" Well, that's a case of a reprised role. Specifically, the character which Barbara Baldavin played in "Shore Leave" was Angela Martine-Teller, a detail written in just before production when they realized Baldavin had played Angela Martine in "Balance of Terror" (and survived). However, Baldavin DID play another character, Baker, in "Space Seed". She played a different Angela in "Turnabout Intruder". >6. ??? : Old Man in "For the World is Hollow..." > Tamar in "Return of the Archons" > [Dr. Theodore Haskins] in "The Menagerie" Right, the infamous Jon Lormer. Also, to follow up on one which Karl Stapel- feldt brought up, Barry Russo played Commodore Robert Wesley in "The Ultimate Computer" [a 3B-20D] and Lt. Commander Giotto in "Devil in the Dark". Some others: John Winston played a bartender in "Wolf in the Fold" as well as playing Lt. Kyle in several episodes. He also did the voice of the computer on the I.S.S. Enterprise in "Mirror, Mirror". There are a number of examples of people, primarily stunt doubles, having bit parts in several episodes (other than stunt double itself), like Paul Baxley. [This is getting really trivial.] Ian Wolfe played Septimus in "Bread and Circuses" as well as Atoz in "All Our Yesterdays". Has anyone mentioned that Barbara Babcock, who played Mea 3 in "A Taste of Armageddon" also did the voice of the feline Isis in "Assignment: Earth" and the voices of the Tholians in "The Tholian Web"? (I know someone already mentioned she played Philana in "Plato's Stepchildren".) -- Roger Noe ihnp4!ihlts!rjnoe

<> I have seen William Shatner appear in at least 1 Kung-Fu Episode. I believe he played the part of a bearded Scottsman. He played the part so well that at first I didn't recognize him, but the credits at the end say that he played the part. Dennis -- Call-Me: Dennis Gibbs, Univ. of Md. Comp. Sci. Center. Diana Muldaur played Anne Muhlhall in "Return to Tomorrow" and Miranda in "Is There in Truth no Beauty". I seem to remember that she starred in some nature program that was aired in the 70's.
