There will be three new starships in this movie...the USS Grissom, the USS Excelsior and the Klingon ship (Bird of Prey) (Thats really two starships and one Klingon). Christopher Lloyd of Taxi fame plays Kruge the Klingon, Mark Lenard returns as Spock's Vulcan father, and Merritt Buttrick (sp) returns as David Marcus.... In the ugly rumors department, a letter to the editor in Starlog March 84 persists the rumor that the Enterprise is going to be destroyed in this movie...which follows at least two other reports from other magazines...its also a good rumor that Spock WILL in fact return to the crew of the Enterprise in Trek 3....Industrial Light and Magics Special effects in this film are supposed to be nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!! Oh, well, that's all Ive got time for now--back to the rumor mill...(Another excellent Star Trek Novel is Black Fire by Sonni Cooper...a MUST read.for Trek fans.)
