When Spock was ejected from the Enterprise, he was placed in a photon torpedo casing. It was then fired through the photon torpedo port. How could this occur and still have the casing (casket?) intact when it crashed into the new planet? For that matter, why didn't it just blow up? The obvious answer is: "Because it's Hollywood." Maybe this will be the last time the explanation has to be posted. The book version of TWOK explains that Saavik had the responsibility of selecting the trajectory for the coffin. You can assume she selected an appropriate one.
