WELL, I THINK EVERYONE ON THE NET SEEMS SKEPTICAL OF THE POSSIBLE RESURRECTION OF THE SELF-SACRIFICING HERO OF STII, SPOCK. IT'S NOT AS BAD AS IT SEEMS ... THE IDEA WAS BASICALLY OKAY EVEN THOUGH NO ONE REALLY CARES TO SEE SPOCK BACK. IT KINDA REMINDS ME OF OBI-WAN AND YODA IN "RETURN OF THE JEDI", AND THIS MOVIE CERTAINLY HAS ALL THE *SAP* OF THE SW TRILOGY. YES, IN STII I'M SURE WE ALL FELT A GREAT DEAL OF EMOTION. WELL, NOW IT IS ALL RE-HASHED FOR YOU ON THE SCREEN. PROBABLY HALF OF THIS MOVIE'S LINES WERE REPEATS FROM STII (BUT WE LIKED *THAT* MOVIE SO MUCH WE SHOULDN'T REALLY MIND). AS A MATTER OF FACT, YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY TO HEAR THAT NOT ONLY DO YOU HEAR SOME OF THE SAME LINES, YOU SEE SOME OF THE OLD FOOTAGE AGAIN. THE BIG THING TO REMEMBER IS " REMEMBER .... ". WE SHOULD MENTION CHEKOV, EVERYONE SEEMS TO WANT HIM OUT OF THE PICTURE ... DON'T WORRY, HE'S NOT QUITE THE STAR HE WAS IN STII. UHURA HAS ONE BRIGHT MOMENT -- YOU SEE HER FOR THE WOMAN YOU ALWAYS THOUGHT SHE WAS. TOO BAD SHE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE STAR OF THIS ONE. SAAVIK (THE *NEW* ONE) IS AS VULCAN AS EVER. SCOTTY REMAINS AS LOYAL AS EVER (TO THE ENTERPRISE) ... SPEAKING OF WHICH, WHOEVER WAS CONFUSED ABOUT "THE FINAL VOYAGE" ADVERTISED REMEMBER THERE IS A (VAGUE) LAW ABOUT 'TRUTH IN ADVERTISING'. ONE FINAL MESSAGE ABOUT THE MOVIE ... IT SHOWS THAT GOD REMAINS THE ONLY PERFECT CREATOR. LAURA BECK C/O ...!CSVAX!UOKVAX!UOK!RWBECK
