[net.startrek] Puttering Excelsior

[You SAW the plans? Unfortunate.]

I had no problem with the Excelsior coming to a stop. Since Scotty
jury-rigged the control computer it's my guess that he simply told it
to enter station-keeping mode when the transwarp command was given.
Remember the "Good Day Captain" message which popped up? It was my
impression that he didn't really "sabotage" anything, hence all status
indicators showed normal, but rather hacked the command/control system.
"The more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to clog the drain."

Several people have commented on the rudeness of the guards towards
our favorite Trek citizens. That was reality, MP's (or SP's, or whatever)
in the military behave just like that. Even so, weren't Sulu and Kirk
out of uniform when they went to the brig? I thought Sulu's performance
was perfect, no reaction at all when he was insulted, then effortlessly
sending the guard to gaga land when the time came.

I didn't care for Robin Curtis at all, she looked to much like a
hollywood starlet to me.

Christopher Lloyd was great, too bad he bit the big one. I would
have enjoyed seeing him appear again as a continuing rival to Kirk.
