<subsist on these rations, Mr Adventure> I'm going to reverse my previous positions and say that Star Trek mobvie series could continue in worthwhile form without Spock, based on impressions from the 3rd movie. Two reasons: Obviously, there was very little Spock in ST-III, yet it was about as good as the 2nd flick which was very Spocky. Second, in ST-III the secondary players (Scotty, Sulu, Uhura) got to really shine, ham it up, develop. No wonder it seemed like the old TV series-- those people got a lot more to do back then than in the 1st and 2n movies. And of course the Real McCoy was more real than ever (almost overplayed in spots, but what the heck). Given more of these characters, ST could go on without Spock, whose character has been developed to the point of being less interesting now (see my earlier postings). PLEASE don't think I'm advocating less Spock--just saying it could be done. In fact, after doing away with Kirk's wife*, they better not lose SPock too. *I.e., that to which Kirk was "married." I'd sure like to see Carol Marcus (Bibi Besch) back too, come to think of it. Hey, that was Scotty's wife too they did in.... mike k
