<FEED HIM> As mentioned in previous posting, Spock has become so unabashedly human that his character may not be as interesting as in the TV days. In the off chance that the ST-IV writers (ST:Who's Next? -- I love it!) sense this problem, Spock can easily be regressed as far back as desired: Since core-dumping (reverse mind meld) is a Vulcan ability, and his mind was restored via a Vulcan priestess in a VUlcan ceremony, maybe Spock's Vulcan half got a better restoration than his human side. Thus, no matter how well he remembers, no more gushy "friendship" statements out of Spock's mouth for a while, tho it's clear to us he feels them. Of course, since SPock dumped to a human (ironically, the last human he'd have normally chosen!), the exactly reverse argument could be made, and Spock could be more human now than ever. Or, SPock could be just about anything! I hate to think of his character being arbitrarily diddled with. Come on, SPock IS 75% of ST. mike k

[I'm glas she's on our side] I have a small problem with saying that Spock's platitudes about his friendship with Kirk is out of his vulcan character. Freindship can be based on mutual respect and understanding. Even Spock has said that the running of a starship is based on layalty to one man. The relationship between Kirk and Spock is not only "logical" but conducive to running the ship more efficiently. If you want proof look at the relationship between Kruge and his crew.
