This is in reply to a few of the questions submitted by Rich Rosen; I remind all who read that these responses are not final in nature; I merely am attempt- ing to make logical progressions/deductions from all the data at my disposal. Firstly: It would be illogical that the Enterprise be regenerated. There are some that would argue, "But Spock was... why not the Enterprise?" The fact re- mains that Spock contained, within his Vulcan-Human genetic structure, a set of instructions to reproduce his particular body. It is my belief that the Genesis effect takes matter and creates habitable environments through manip- ulation of the energy-matter relationship governing the atoms involved. When David Marcus placed protomatter into the torpedo as well, I believe that it was responsible for the fact that Spock's body was regenerated. Restating: it was the protomatter, ACTING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GENESIS EFFECT, that enabled Spock's regeneration. (Thus, without being even aware, Spock may owe David Marcus his life...) The Enterprise, however, is not even remotely or- ganic; therefore, Marcus' "blunder" would have no effect other than that originally intended. Next: Yes, this was the same destruct sequence used in "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield." The sequence is as follows: (CO) Destruct Sequence One: Code one, one-A. (FO) Destruct Sequence Two: Code one, one-A, two-B. (SO) Destruct Sequence Three: Code one-B, two-B, three. (CO) Destruct Sequence zero, zero, zero, destruct, zero. (The code to deactivate would have been one, two, three, continuity.) As for the Organian treaty, it is my speculation that these Klingons were not (they stated so, obliquely) acting on Empire orders... And lastly, yes, I believe the B/W opener was reshot (Why the *----* was it done in B/W anyway???) Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the new Enterprise' blueprints? Keith A.
