I thought that Kruge was back on the Bird-Of-Prey? As to the line ... I kind of think that it is J.T.K.'s reaction to Klingons in general, and a careerful of abuse from them. Try to be nice and look what they do to you! Try to keep you borders clean and look what they do to you! Bad guys! They don't even use Sure. They like it gross! (foam. flruzzl.) It's also a sort of a throwback to that wonderful Popeye (tm of someone-or- other) line: ``I've had all I can stands -- I can't stands no more!''. This was where he would stop playing by the book, or by the Golden Rule. (``do unto others as you would they do unto you'') Instead, the Iron Law in us all comes out (``do unto others as they would do unto you''). I rather enjoyed it, being of a nasty mind when it comes to Klingons. And it let us hear what most of us would like to be able to say from time to time. -- from Mole End Mark Terribile (scrape .. dig ) hou5d!mat ,.. .,, ,,, ..,***_*. (soon hou4b!mat)

Mister Wayne...you must learn to control your emotions! (sorry - that was the Spock in me talking) Valkris was NOT Kruge's mistress; as stated in the STIII novelizaion... The merchant captain turned on Valkris in a fury. "What's going on? When do we get paid off?" "Soon, Captain," Valkris said, "Quite soon." She spoke again, in formal tongue, to Kruge "Success, Commander. And my love." She did love him, indeed, as the instrument of her bloodline's redemption. ... The few remaining bits of debris tumbled away. Kruge felt completely satisfied. His only regret was never meeting Valkris face to face. He had heard much of her, both before her bloodline came to grief and after. Her information would win for him a great triumph; her death would return her family to its previous place in their society's hierarchy. It is unfortunate that the deal Kruge and Valkris had made was not mentioned in the movie version. Apparently, helping Kruge bring home the "ultimate weapon" would redeem her family's status and nobility that had been besmotched by her playboy brother (Hard to imagine a playboy Klingon! - just a Wild and'a Crazy Guy). I would like to see more about the Klingon way of life in future movies ( the most I've seen has been in the novel "The Final Reflection"). Does anyone have a reaction to Kirk's last words to Kruge on the Genesis planet? ("Damn you! I have had-enough- of YOU!") To me this was T.J. Hooker speaking - not James T. Kirk! It just doesn't sound like him! Well, perhaps losing David and his "lady" (the Enterprise) took it's toll. -- "I'll be gettin' back to my machines noo" Josie Clementz ihuxw!josie
