The resuscitation techniques demonstrated by Nomad appeared similar to
current technology. Scott was "dead" but only a few minutes. Remember,
the rushed him down to Sick Bay for Nomad's recovery work. People today
are often "dead", yet are revived after 5 minutes to a half-hour of
"death". While cardiac arrest may have been what Scotty had, the
degenerative processes of Full Death had not yet taken effect.
Spock, on the other hand, has to transcend a planetary intsertion, itself
a major feat, be recovered, then sysgened into a body already functioning
with a different program. Please read other discussions so I won't rehash.
