This is from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Butch, the Kid and the gang
pull a train robbery and as they're making their getaway, a bunch of riders
jumps out of boxcars and take off after them. They throw away the money, and
the gang falls behind, but they pursuers keep on coming after Butch and the
Kid. This is the question they keep asking each other after each new
desperate ploy fails to shake their pursuers. Amusing allusion in this
situation. I can't remember exactly who the pursuers are. I beleive they're
Pinkerton's guards (maybe Pinkerton himself?) hired by the railroad company
to capture Butch and the Kid to put an end of the robberies.

If I remember it right they finally escape by jumping off a cliff into a
river. "Whaddya mean, you can't swim?!?!" is another famous line.

Don.
