*:=) You belong at your Captains side ,Spock (=:* *:=) as if you've always been there and always will (=:* I've been reading all this on what people would like to see in ST IV. For my part I enjoyed ST III very much (I'll see it for the eleventh time on Thurs.) and I wouldn't mind seeing something to the same effect in ST IV. I loved the episodic feeling in ST III and would love (although I doubt it will happen) to see ST IV made into a feature film that would lead into another series!! In the following I've composed a synopsis for ST IV that dispite my former belief will not include a Fed-Klingo war but would involve the Klingons which I believe is essential. Read on...... ***STAR TREK IV - IN SEARCH OF CAROL MARCUS :-)*** Star Trek IV opens with Kirk and his crew still on Vulcan when the Feds approach them for the Bird-of-Prey,but Kirk (who has hidden the ship) refuses to hand it over unless certain demands are met, which could include total exxoneration for himself and his crew and a new ship (a trans-warp Enterprise of sorts would be nice) The Feds refuse to grant these requests and give up on the Bird-of-Prey since the Galactic conference seems to be going well. Meanwhile Kirk tries to contact Carol Marcus when he finds out she has been kidnapped by Klingon spies and taken into the neutral zone where she is being forced to construct another Genesis device but this time it's going to be used to destroy Organia. Kirk again enlists in the help of his friends to take the Bird-of-Prey beyond the neutral zone to rescue Carol Marcus and destroy GenesisII. The crew agree and set out for the neutral zone where how they rescue Carol can be left up to your imagination (if she dies then that's the end for genesis). Here they realize that GenesisII has left and they must catch and destroy it but as they attempt to leave the zone they encounter Klingons when the Excelsior shows up showing-off it's trans-warp (whatever that is) and destroys or scares off the Klingons. This gives the Bird-of-Prey a chance to overtake the device and destroy it. The Excelsior then gives them a lift home with Bird-of-Prey in tow where the Feds answer to Kirks demands and so we are left in a position to begin ST V with an entirely new story!!!--whew You may ask how the Organians can not notice their impending doom?? Well..according to `Spock Must Die' the Organians could not detect an unmanned device landing on their planet as in the case of the shielding probe in that novel. These are just my thoughts on how ST IV could end up and only one of several ideas althought this is one of my favorite. I certainly would like to hear some comments on this or other ideas for a storyline to ST IV. On another subject--In the question concerning the shuttle--how about the episode "Metamorphosis" where the Galileo NCC 1701/7 was involved??? Lt. Suvak
