In the TV episode where Kirk falls into an alternate universe where everyone is nasty (Spock with a beard, Sulu with a big scar, called "Mirror, Mirror"??), the alternate Kirk's mistress uses a device with a visual screen which can spy on people in the ship. One got the feeling that everyone spyed on everyone there. Now, as a PARALLEL universe the equipment of the ship should be almost exactly the same, so .... Harry (harry@berkeley, ...!ucbvax!harry)

It certainly isn't the case that the equipement should be almost entirely duplicated in both universes. Specifically, "The Booth" in which Mr. Chekov was placed after his unsuccessful assination attempt. Boy, it's been a while since I've seen that episode, "Mirror, Mirror" wasn't it? Anywho, I should probably introduce myself: I'm Paul Summers, A member of the technical staff at Watkins, Johnson Co., San Jose. I've been a ST fan since the first episode aired and I was only about yea high. One thing puzzles me. Why didn't Kirstie Alley return for the third movie? Prior engagement? Fear of typecasting? (Look what it did for Leonard Nimoy) Money? (Look at Marlon Brando in Superman II, all you can see are his hands in clips from the first movie). It's this fan's opinion (Not the opinion of WJ, Co., or you either, Ron) That the first Lt. Saavik was better than the second. Howcum the switch?
