[Line eater food] (1) In STIII, (when the spies are giving the Genesis data to the Klingons), the Klingon "Bird of Prey" dwarfs the smaller Federation ship ("scout"? "trading vessel"?). (2) Later, the "Bird of Prey" appears to be the same size as the science ship stationed at the "Genesis Planet" when it attacks that ship. (3) Still later, the "Bird of Prey" appears to be about the same size as the Enterprise, when it and the Enterprise engage in battle. (Consistent with #2). (4) Near the end of the picture, the "Bird of Prey" appears to be very small (When it lands on Vulcan) -- too small for even a crew of 12, its supposed complement. (5) We are shown a number of rooms in the "Bird of Prey" -- a transporter room; a bridge; a conference room (where the Klingons view the Genesis data); and a supposed "down below" where the Klingon prisoner was to be kept. (NOT consistent with #4). Huh?? I know a possible reason (for #1, #2, and #3): the models of the Enterprise, bird of prey, and science ship were all relatively detailed (lights, etc.), because they all appeared in a lot of shots. I suspect all of these models were the same size. The small spies' ship was only seen once, and therefore would not be as detailed (large). I don't know why the Bird of Prey" was so small on Vulcan (did they build the whole thing, or was it just a special effect). I can't help feel that a lot of other people noticed this too, but I haven't found any other commentary in this newsgroup. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Stassen "Congratulations!
